(Občas ráda dávám věcem zjednodušující nálepky a zároveň nesnáším škatulkování, ale to je v pohodě: We're all hypocrites sometimes, aren't we?)

:D). A prozatím sdílím alespoň pár citací.
Já vám to sepíšu, slibuju :)
"Peggy McIntosh associate director of the Wellesley Center for Women thinks that encountering our girls to be compliant can do a real long-term damage, but she also thinks that it's hard to avoid. It's actually easier for young girls than young boys to behave well because our brains pick up on emotional cues from earlier age. So we do it because we can and then because we're rewarded for it. We do it for our teachers and our parents too. Soon we learn that we are most valuable and most in favor when we do things the right way, neatly and quietly. We begin to crave the approval we get for being good...the result is that making mistakes and taking risks behavior critical for confidence building is also behavior girls try to avoid to their detriment. Research shows that when boy fails he takes it in stride believing it's due to lack of effort. When a girl makes a similar mistake she sees herself as sloppy and comes to believe that it reflects a lack of skill."
"Girls leave school crammed full of interesting historical facts and elegant Spanish subjunctives so proud of their ability to study hard and get the best grades. But somewhere between the classroom and the cubicle the rules change and they don't understand it. They slam into a world of work that doesn't reward them for perfect spelling and exquisite manners. The requirements for success are different and their confidence takes a beating.
Professional success demands political savvy, a certain amount of scheming and jockeying a flair for self-promotion and not letting a no stop you. Women often aren't very comfortable with that. Perhaps deep down we don't really approve of these tactics. Whether the reason we haven't been very good at mastering these skills and that holds us back."
"One study suggests that women have 30 percent more neurons firing at any given time then men. The activity in these regions probably indicates female strengths, including empathy, intuition, collaboration, self-control, and appropriate worry, Amen told us, but women are also more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain, and being unable to run off their thoughts. In other words, his scans seem to be showing physically all of our overthinking our ruminating in process.... It's like the parking brake is always on and you can get stuck on certain thoughts or behaviors such as worrying or holding grudges. Dr. Amen believes his study is evidence that women are often thinking more then men. That can be a plus. It's why we're better at multitasking, he says. But it can also lead to that snowballing of negative thinking and anxiety. "
